The Dolphins appear close to landing free-agent safety Ryan Clark, according to the Miami Herald. Clark arrived in Miami on Sunday night with the intent of sealing a deal.

¡°Without a question,¡± Clark said. ¡°That¡¯s the reason we waited so long to take any (free agent) trips. We had interested teams that I didn¡¯t really want to go to, and I didn¡¯t want to try to make myself look busy by going to a bunch of different places.

¡°There were a lot of good offers, and a lot of good fits. But this seems like a good spot. So I¡¯m praying (it) goes well.¡±

Clark has played for three teams during his eight NFL seasons, including the last four with the Steelers, with whom he won two Super Bowl titles. The Dolphins are looking for a strong safety after releasing Gibril Wilson and previously made a big free-agent splash by signing LB Karlos Dansby.
